The story started as usual — building a proof of concept, a small experiment I wanted to explore and play with for the sake of learning. But as I kept tinkering, the experiments grew (at least in my mind). I wasn’t just orchestrating agents anymore; I was staging scenarios, shaping environments, watching behaviors unfold.


That was when I realized what I really wanted wasn’t another orchestration framework. I wanted a way to simulate possibilities — to explore what ifs before they became decisions. To see how agents behave not in isolation, but in dynamic, evolving conditions where strategy, failure, and adaptation all matter.

It was mostly in my fantasy. But somehow that’s how Autobox emerged. A (potential) platform, a so-loved framework, and an engine for building these artificial rehearsal spaces — modular, inspectable, and extensible. With Autobox I could go from idea to experiment in minutes, and from prototype to insight in a loop.


Because the real value isn’t in running agents. It’s in what those simulations reveal — about systems, about behavior, and ultimately about the choices we have yet to make.


I want to define the scenario — a decision, a challenge, a social dynamic. As well as the artificial roles, parameters and goals. And then Autobox runs the show: LLM-powered agents interacting in real time, guided by memory, context, and instructions — each one adding to the unfolding story.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen AI evolve from passive assistants to autonomous agents — capable of reasoning (or at least giving the 

While the foundations of traditional software engineering remain essential, they fall short on their own when applied to AI-native applications.

 Deterministic logic, fixed inputs, and predictable outcomes still provide the scaffolding for reliable systems — but they weren’t built for components that learn, adapt, and behave probabilistically. Building AI systems demands more than control flow and state machines — it requires embracing uncertainty, feedback, and emergence as part of the design space.

AI applications demand a new kind of infrastructure — one that embraces uncertainty, supports iteration at scale, and orchestrates complex interactions between intelligent agents.

Multi-agent systems are already at work in production: optimizing workflows, generating content, navigating search, and solving complex tasks in parallel.

To make these systems truly useful and aligned, we must master the art of

Feedback loops sparking oscillations, delays, populations growing, resource flows reversing and nonlinear interactions were visualized as dynamic flows, showing how small changes could ripple through a system over time. It revealed a profound truth:

That spark stayed with me. Years later, working on AI systems, I began to see the connection. Designing multi-agent environments, modeling interactions, and shaping emergent behaviors — it all echoed those early ideas. But now, instead of simulating population growth or supply chains, we’re simulating intelligence itself. Agents that communicate, adapt, and evolve — not in code alone, but within simulated ecosystems that serve as their reality.

Beyond single-turn prompts or isolated tasks, artificial worlds offer a powerful canvas: dynamic, open-ended spaces where multi-agent systems can be observed, guided, and improved. These simulated ecosystems don’t replace existing tools — they complement them by unlocking a new dimension of experimentation, enabling us to test behaviors, orchestrate complexity, and prototype future AI-native experiences.


As we move toward systems that reason over time, collaborate with others, and adapt through interaction, simulations emerge as a powerful complement to existing evaluation methods.

They offer a unique lens to observe how behavior unfolds — not just in isolated responses, but across sequences of decisions, in relation to other agents, and within evolving contexts. Simulations enable us to explore system dynamics, feedback loops, and emergent strategies that are otherwise difficult to capture. They make it possible to study long-term reasoning, trust-building, goal alignment, negotiation, and coordination — especially in multi-agent environments.

When agents interact in simulated scenarios, we can begin to understand not only
